The foundation stone of the Resource Centre for Livelihoods Promotion (RCLP) was co-incidentally timed with the organization of the Livelihoods Summit during 27-30th September, 2005 in Udaipur by Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative Ltd., the parent body of RCLP. The event was inaugurated by her Excellency, the Governor of Rajasthan, Smt. Pratibha Patil. The Summit provided an opportunity to draw Planners, Implementers, Practitioners, Researchers, Scholars and representatives of funding organizations and Government agencies, from India and abroad who are active role players in livelihoods enhancement projects.
Much thought was given on the establishment of the resource centre as IFFDC was seized of the opportunity after twelve years of working with the community under different International and Indian partners. The implementation of developmental projects worth about Rs. 100 crores was full of experience for IFFDC and its staff in planning, implementation, monitoring, networking, capacity building and liaison etc. The other area of rich experience was by providing consultancy services and capacity building of community, grass root level workers and middle level management of many organizations in diversified areas of development through trainings, capacity building, research, networking and experience sharing workshops at different levels of intervention.
The Resource Centre is mandated to give practical solutions to the emerging challenges. Backed by an in-house team of trainers and experienced visiting learned faculty, the Centre has been fully equipped to provide services to Development organizations, government agencies and donor projects. |
